Hello, this is my first post on this forum so please forgive me if it is in the wrong section. I am having some problems with the oil pressure on my engine. The engine code is AEB. Does anyone know if this is a common fault on this engine? I have had the oil pressure tested and it seems fine but the warning light still comes on. I am suspecting it may be a faulty oil pump as there is a tappety noise in the top of the engine. Any help would be greatly appreciated /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Anyway, just a guess but, the tappety noise MAY be the injectors firing. Without listening to it I can't say for definate. Thats a good thing by the way.
As for the warning light coming on, is it when the engine is under certain loads or at low/high revs?? As daft s it might sound is it when manoeuvering in a certain way? I ask the last one because it may be something as simple as a short in the wiring, so when you turn a certain direction the wiring moves and shorts out on the body.
There should be someone else along soon who should be able to add to what I've written.

From what i have read there seems to have been a faulty "batch" that seem to fail at around 60 70 k miles. If it is gone its a sump off job i think
Just had mine done !
Oil pressure warning light coming on. Changed switch and it seemed to go away. Next thing turbo went !
Took it to my expert and he nearly fainted that I was still driving it. It seems to be a common problem. There is a mesh that strains the oil of nasty bits which eventually blocks.
Needs cleaned and then will probably do your lifetime of the car.
The turbo shaft on mine broke because it was getting starved of oil, luckily I had no engine damage
Get it checked asap
