Hello all,

Very strange, my car seems to be drinking juice at the moment. I cleaned the MAF this weekend and the car is smoother - the mid-range flat spot I have been experiencing has gone - so clearly the car is better.

Anyone done specific things to cure heavy consumption?

How many miles are you getting on your 2.8's for urban driving?

Cheers,
Leon

Urban, about 20mpg if I'm very lucky.

Urban 18mpg with optimax and cc on.
24mph on motorway, glad I use the TDi now for work mileage 600miles for £50!
Beats the 280 miles I get from the 2.8.

Ouch... sounds very bad. I used to get close on 300+ though... averaging over 24. I do shorter trips nowa days - but still... OUCH! :/

Yeah, I get about 280 miles before I fill up with approx. 45 quids worth.

I'm surprised your fuel consumption isn't a little better (and the coppers haven't pulled you over!) if you do 24mph on the motorway!

Mine can occasionally reach the dizzy heghts of 30-32, if I set the cruise on at about 75mph. A good compromise between economy, traffic flow, getting there in good time & not being troubled by the rozzers.
