I have exactly the same problem with mine (caliper weeping) on O/S rear, mine is a 1.9 TDi, I was just going to snap up a 2nd hand caliper off Ebay, years back you used to be able to buy seal kits for everything and I often replaced seals in calipers, master cylinders and even wheel cylinders BITD on old Ford stuff, there used to be a great place just down the road from me called Romford Brake that just supplied just about anything and everything for absolutely EVERYTHING but this shop is no more.
It even used to seal brake shoe linings you riveted to the shoes, but nowadays it seems the fashion is to throw away and buy new complete parts although I like the look of the above site

^ not the 1st time i heard this being said and indeed it is a shame that we seem to live in more of a throw away society perhaps. You also learn nothing from fixing things (as people dont bother) and learning how they work which is often very enlightening. Shame then..

The issue with the rear calipers is the handbrake mechanism.
You can reseal the main piston fairly easy but removing the handbrake shaft requires a press and various somewhat specific tools.
I've replaced the main seals on rear calipers before, but i've never been totally satisfied with the outcome, whereas a new caliper for £50 just seems much less hassle.
If it was £200 new or £30 for a rebuild kit then sure, i'd be investing the time into doing it myself, but in reality its £20 for the seals, another £20 per caliper for pistons as the old ones are often knackered, then several hours of messing around, vs £50-70quid for a complete new caliper ready to bolt on. Its just not worth the effort.

I ordered a pair of rear calipers for my TQS(due to one leaking from handbrake mech) from Incar Motor Factors - The German Car Part Specialists. One of the best prices I could find on the net, and no surcharge/exchange. Still to be delivered as only ordered them last week(have to come from TRW in Germany), but the guy on the phone was very helpful.

Update:
Thankfully it didn't need a caliper,
turns out there were ally washers where the brake pipe meets caliper i think,
and these had corroded through.
So, if you start to see any seeping down there i guess these washers could be on the way out?
