Paint work

Red paint on bonnet is looking a little dull/faded

What is the best product to bring it back to lift ?

There are lots of products that will help but the main problem is that red fades badly and may well need a re-paint, which is another prob in its own right.

haha, try owning a tornado red (pink) mkII golf. More time spent polishing than driving.

tried t-cut, but the results were a bit patchy, and was a bit concerned about removing too much paint as it needed it so regularly.

eventually found the autoglym resin polish did the job nicely, and lasted up to two months depending on the weather.

Last tip is to buy a car polisher, and not one of those namby-pamby 12v fag lighter jobs either, go for a 240v nuclear powered one, your arms will thank you in the long run

I would personally T-Cut every panel. You could then mop it if need be and to finish polish it with red colour polish

My Dad has a red mk2 Golf. In the last yr we`ve had to T-Cut it twice, its 15yrs old though!

A respray would be the long-term answer but do you have the spare ca$h?

clay bar will not bring the colour back, its only for removing surface lumps, like tar etc....

i highly recommend you t-cut it then polish it with a mop, even one of those halfords polishing machines will bring it up nicely.
