Nightmare caliper hangers

Have been trying to change my rear calipers and discs today
Calipers are off but whatever donkey had them off before me has rung
all the inside of the 8mm Allen bolts for the hangers.
I have used wd40, vice-grip, and even heat but there is no shifting them.
Has anyone got any suggestions before I get the grinder out in the morning?

either grinder, or weld a bolt onto the head.

Grinder it needed, but got it done. Thank god.
All done now, all I have to do is sort the spongy pedal.
Bled all the calipers loads, and thought I got all the air out.
anyone got any advice, as this was my first time to bleed them so it's all new

Mine have the same issue. Try driving it a bit and bleeding again, air gets stuck in the workings of the caliper.

Will do, have a 100 mile round trip tomorrow and can check when I get home if it's not too dark.

i use a pressure bleeder now
makes it a doddle

So do i, and after 3 weeks of ****ing around i still have a spongey pedal!

I believe air gets trapped in the handbrake mechanism and finds it difficult to find its way out.

Finally got around to bleeding the brakes again today.
I think you were right about the rear calipers Aragorn.
Even though I had bled them quiet a bit, they were full of air again today.
Nice and firm now and biting like a cranky wife.
For reference for anyone needing new brakes, I got full kit of discs and pads with rear bearings pre pressed and new abs rings fitted for 189 euros from CAR-BOCK: Ersatzteile Audi Seat Skoda VW
good value on the prices of parts (compared to Irish suppliers anyway)
