My 97 TDi is currently still a key in the door jobby, which i`m non too keen on.

I was wondering if anyone else has had a 3rd party alarm installed and had any advice with what i might want to look ot for.

I`ll be after a cat 1 so for a fitted 3rd party system i uderstand that its going to cost about £300, but are there any OEM options i could use??

cheers /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ok.gif

I haven't used 3rd party alarms for a long time now, but when I did, I found Laserline very good. IIRC, It's possible to interface it to the doors, windows & sunroof, so they auto-close.

Ive got a Clifford- generally accepted as the best alarm systems on the UK market.

Very happy with it- in more dodgier places also use a Disclock.

ive got a standard alarm i.e. horn goes off.
is it easy to get an aftermarket alarm instead of this ??
also is the standard immobilser linked to the alarm?
