would VCDS be able to tell? No 1 son bought a 1.8T with a sports exhaust and a boost gauge - we are wondering if it has been remapped.

It is super easy to tell, what does it boost to?

Stock cars are slow as ****, if it feels even remotly quick it has probably been mapped.

Thanks for both replies: We will go and find out and report back.

Stock boost is around 8-10 psi. A mapped car will run more like 14-18 psi depending on the map.

compare the mass air flow readings to what they should be as standard?

Its got a boost gauge fitted which reads in kpa and under load the guage read to 500kpa which i think is about 7.5 psi so it look s like the guage isl for show then.
