Hi All
Hope you can help....
when I bought my A4 I heard a loud rattle when driving the car. Iv had the AA check for me as I was worried.
have been told its coming from front wheels only when the car is moving.
It did have new pads for sure as I can see they are new.. Does anyone have any idea why they could be making such a racket. I also noticed that if I go over a speed hump with brake pedal slightly pressed there is no rattle..
Ummm confused.....

Hope someone may have an idea..

Thanks

mine was making a rattle like yours that would go away with the brakes lightly pressed.

Turned out the pad spring was missing from the caliper.

The spring is the sliver wire thing that runs across the caliper in this pic:

Thank you for your reply..
do I only get them at Audi and can you remember what they cost to buy..

Cheers

i happened to have one spare, you can get them from a motor spares place, usually called a "pad fitting kit"

Have you checked to see if its missing?

Iv just had a look and can't see any type of wire clip. Iv found a seller on eBay doing 2 for £14 so will order them.

Thank you for your help
