hi guys this might be a stupid question but im new to working on cars. i have a 1.8 non turbo and was wondering what is the braided pipe connected to the fuel rail? as there seems to be a hole in it. also could this be effecting the performance of the engine?

Its probably going to the fuel pressure regulator, and yes, it will mess with the fuelling if it has a hole.
