hi im new just wanted to say hi and wonderd if you could help me ive been advised maybe my cams are worn and it is going to cost alot to fix. i drive an audi a4 2.5 tdi v6 diesel 1998 manual 200.000 miles, althougth its got loads of service history i have been told its not worth fixing. if it is the worst case and it is the cams whats the worst that can happen by driving it ? and is there any other explanation for the knocking coming from the engine it sounds like tappets to me i noticed the oil service inspection lights up on start but there seems to be no loss of power i checked other things like engine mounts rad fans and exhaust mounts i just came back from a 600 mile journey with no probs thx in advance for your reply colin
