Oil

Quick question, I've read lots of opinions on which oil to use in the s4, so I gave my local Audi a call as thought they would be best to advise. But the guy I spoke to said to carry on using what the previous owner used, as changing could cause issues, which I understand. But the previous owner used 0W40 fully synth, Mobil 1. Does this sound correct as I've not seen of anyone else running this oil.

The cars completely standard and on 94k.

I use gulf competition 5/40 in my rs4. Anything thats fully synthetic or ester based will be perfect and 5/40 seems to be the best to use. Contact tim at opie oils (oilman on here) for more information. Very nice guy and really knows his oil.

0w40 mobil 1 is fine. Any good quality 5w40 will work just fine too.

Stick to decent branded fully synthetic oils and you'll not have any trouble.

The gulf stuff mentioned above is good, as is Quantum Platinum, which you can buy at your local audi or VW dealer for about £30 a gallon.
