Right chaps..... I think you are aware of my situation (if not see thread http://www.audi-sport.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=192504&an=0&page=0#192504 However based on the latest, I thought a new thread with a new title may get more attention as I need something quite quick.....
I have now been told by my local garage that they (the dealer) SUSPECT, the ECU has blown and needs replacing (£700 +vat) after 3 hours labour (diagnosis - £80 p/h (trade I guess as my local garage has sent it there)) - it is a suspect and they are not 100% sure yet - tomorrow I guess
As you are aware I have a remap, or should I say, I have had the chip replaced and a remap.... not knowing how it's done, I guess the dealer will spot the Jabba Chip.
I have not told my garage that I have the chip done, but this shouldn't matter anyway I guess.
But will they try and blame it on that ?
After replacing the ECU (if this is the cure for the car not starting) - will I lose the BHP / Torque increase ?
Will they throw all the old bits away and the chip - and replace with a standard chip ?
I am ringing Jabba tomorrow but wondered if any of you have had a similar experience..... I have done a quick search on here for "ECU" but there are loads of threads and I thought it would be quicker to ask directly
As Ever, thanks in anticipation. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif
