Hi all

Just received my ABS module from ECUtesting in Derbyshire, UK.
Yesterday upon installing, i was thrilled to see the faults were clear and my LCD now reads "OK" upon startup.

However the brake pedal pulsates violently upon braking- at low speeds too.

i would suspect the sensors as the ABS module has been faulty for a few years and the PO did not repair it.

what are your thoughts?
any links to DIYs will be appreciated.
i dont yet have VAG COM but am shopping a cable.

Appears to be common on B5s. Both of mine did this and I put up with it. Check the rear reluctor rings, most likely cracked or full of crud. Be very careful if you try and remove the abs sensors. They get stuck if been in a long time, break easily and cost a small fortune to replace.

LOL just bought a sensor today and it cost £164 with 10% off from Audi but includes the brass holder so be very carefull.

you lot are really scaring me ;)

thanks will jack her up once again and get my hands dirty this afternoon. wife permitting :p

sensors are on ebay for about 15quid and they work fine!

It could be a bad sensor, incorrect airgap, or broken reluctor.
