Whos Got K04...?

Think me Turbo has gone bang. Need to get it sorted ASAP.

Should i get a K04, or stick with the K03, its a 95 M plate AEB.

If i get the K03, it'll be audi that do it. What du recon they'll charge?

I no i should really go down the GT28r route, but i dont have that kinda money.
I need a way of gettin the car runnin, and as my current one seems dead it would make sense to put a K04 not K03 back on.

I live in taunton, and obviously cant drive the car too far. So sumwhere local would be good.

I gather gettin the map done is hard work... any1 had/got a good one? If so who was it from?

What do people think the Price Diff will be? (K03/04)

Does any1 have a low milage turbo? in either form. Need to be for the A4 (Longitudinal)

Audi will charge about £900 for a K03 - plus fitting. You will be shocked by the quote. If you don't want to spend a lot get a second hand K03 and get a local garage to fit it. You won't get a K04 from Audi - it will have to be aftermarket as Audi don't fit the K04 to the A4 1.8T. It will be about £700 ish plus fitting. I noticed Andy offered you a K03 for £250 - I'd bite his hand off myself!

Mate - I also live in Taunton. I would try Audi 4 U in Bridgwater. They will be much cheaper than the Audi dealership. Ask for either Bo or Keith. You could also try AM Cars in Illminster, I have used them in the past but they can still be pretty pricey but they have many years experience with Audis and really know their stuff. Lastly theres Performance Driven in Taunton who are also Audi Specialists. However my only experience with them wasnt that good so haven't been back.
I have a new K04 waiting to be fitted so if you want to stick with a K03 you could have mine for £200. Currently has 80k on it and has no signs of wear. Could even take you out in the car before hand so you could see how well it performs. PM if your interested.

 

Cars just come back from AM. Good work on the car, family friends. But they didnt find the fault i took it in for.

AndyC from GDI has a modded K03 for 250. Thats a poss.

Dont reallllly wana do too many miles in the car. Dread to think what mite happen on a trip to bridgy or ilminster!! haha

Im hopin the audi quote will be high enuff that i can warrant goin to a GT28R conversion... hehehe

Don't worry about getting the car somewhere for a remap - you can probably just send the ECU away to get it programmed then get the fine tuning done on a rolling road.

AM couldnt find the fault?? Seems a bit strange. GT28 conversion will cost in the region of £3k all in. Quite a difference to a K03 or K04 but then you get what you pay for.

 

ATP Have a kit to fit for $1250.
Seems to bolt in the original space.
Should be available this month.

Its not AM couldnt find the fault. ITs just they didnt. They replaced the antiroll bar link. but when i got home i realised it was still clunking.

We put it on a ramp the otherday and it looks like offside gearbox mount has moved slightly.

AM did a good job of what they did do tho. Found that sum1 had fitted a solid disc caliper to the front! would never have noticed that otherwise!

Standard A4, Dark blue M plate. 5 spoke original alloys.

Import Tax and Vat can be 'Avoided'
but Im yet to see whats been done to AndyC's K03. And how much he wants for a K04.
