Is there any maintainence involved with these?

When my car is cold, if i select 1,2,3 or D and press throttle to pull away, it will hesitate, sit there rock back and forward but eventually go after about two minutes of part throttle.

This must reduce fuel economy in some way, and not very good for the turbo surely?

You find that just an oil change on an auto box makes it feel like new again.

wondering where the strainer is on these boxes as ScottB5 above mentioned should be changed?

I have found the filler neck its down beside the oil filter.

Get yourself a workshop manual. Either a haynes, or a copy of ELSAWin from ebay. They're invaluable when starting out maintaining a new car.

Had a leaking gearbox oil cooler at the weekend.

fixed that and refilled the box with atf.

Still the same symptoms as first post. can anyone tell me if this is normal?

Anyone?

does the torque convertor begin to play up at all?

It goes fine in reverse, im presuming this is a friction clutch though

I got no idea.

i think we are the only two people with auto boxes in the B5 sections. lol

i have heard of torque converters failing.

i missed the question about the strainer, get it replaced with the oil.
