    WHEEL FITTING

hi all, i am going to take a look at a set of wheels tommorrow.
they are 17 inch but the the back is staggered
    front is 225/45 - 17 9j
    back is 225/45 - 17 10j
the car is a 99 avant.
should this staggering give much bother to the car overall from a fitting and general running point of view.
    cheers for any advice

    225's on a 9" and 10" rim....??

technically, they are the same rolling radius, because its the same tyres front and back. but those tyres are to narrow for those rims.

you'll also never fit 9 and 10" rims inside the arches on a normal A4 shell.

Yanks have fitted 9's with **** poke, stretch and all that crap but i personally think its too much and cant be good for the car/drive!

10's.......i dont think thats possible seeing as RS boys struggle under their arches!

A friend of mines running 9x19" Bentley rims with a 3mm spacer on the rear of his B5 S4, it's pretty low on coilovers too and he has no issues

What wheels were they?., quite unusual for a 17" wheel to be so wide...Porsche rims?????

There are no problems fitting 9" wheels on A4 with correct ET. With 10" case is not that clear, but still possible.

but the point being that you need to run ridiculous stretch on the tyres to get them to fit, and despite what anyone says, stretch to that degree is dangerous.

    Nice troll, Craig. :D

    Back to business...
I looked my setups and looks like 9" wheels with ET37 are fine on front and ET34 rear with the same tire (235/40/18). When using 225/40 tires even ET40 is fine. If you are gonna ride ridiculously low I recommend to use 225 tires.
