Found this under the airbox cover on a 1.8t AJL, is it a pressure sensor? looks like it broke and somebody attempted a fix with glue?

Found this under the airbox cover on a 1.8t AJL, is it a pressure sensor? looks like it broke and somebody attempted a fix with glue?
It's the purge canister Solenoid valve.
Mines the same and has been repaired with glue and it's not air tight though but at £75 iirc I left it how it was as I will be installing a catch can at some point.

You dont NEED to fix it, but if you intend on leaving it like that, remove the hose from the other side and block it off so your not drawing in unmetered air.
Leave the bit thats currently broken open to the atmosphere so the tank can breathe.

They all break eventually... Mines been left electrically connected so I don't get any fault codes.
