A4 1.9TDi Avant Quattro buying questions?

Has anyone had one of these? What are they like and how do they compare to the non-quattro. Also what are the best options to look for on an A4 avant TDi and finally, what sort of mileage are they capable of doing and what big items go wrong (suspension, brakes, engine, gearbox etc) and at what mileages?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm thinking of selling my 1997 A6 1.8T and getting either the tdi quattro or non quattro version of the above of about the same vintage.

Did you accidentally switch off the trip computer screen???? You can turn it back on by pressing the reset button which is on the bottom of the wipers stalk...

try twisting one of the knobs on the speedo. Either the trip reset one or the one next to it.

Stedes, no I didn't switch it off, although that would explain it! ;-) The first thing I tried was the little button underneath the stalk, but thanks for pointing it out.

Soupie, nope didn't think of that! The car is at my local specialist now for a service so I'll check it when I get it back this weekend.
