steering wheel with radio controls

hi all
i have a a4 2.4 se with a symphony cd radio/cass i have a standard 4 spoke wheel with airbag.

will i be able to change my steering wheel to another b5 audi steering wheel which has volume controls, my mate has spotted one at a breakers (3 spoke with airbag)
is this just a simple swap? may be a loom/plug near the wheel which plugs in?

This i would like to know too, I want to do the same. I managed it with my Vauxhall Cavalier and swapped it for a Vectra one.So this must be doeable
