2= Bose sound system volume button won't function properly until it's warmed up (turn volume up it goes full blast, turn volume dome it goes silent ( nothing in between )

Its a common fault with the DIS screen.
You can attempt a fix your self or send it away for repair.

The Concert volume issue is common too sadly, the only real fix is replacement as it's a faulty chip that causes it.

Rip the factory kit out and choose a replacement that matches in. Becker do a few superb decks.

I've been through 3 concert stereos before I saw the light and went aftermarket. Wish I'd done it years earlier. I picked up a decent new CD stereo with a front USB port, rear aux port and it matches the OEM dash fairly well. Best of all, it only cost about £75 all in, including the loom adaptors.

Cluster repair did mine.
I opted for the full service and 5 years warranty.

the issue behind it is that the chip stores the volume level on each adjustment, most aftermarkets and other OEMs store on power off. The chip will have a maximum number of writes to it before its full (say, 50'000) and as you can imagine, it will get used up pretty quickly. its either a matter of getting another audi unit (bose or none bose, as its only really coding that changes them iirc) or going OEM looking aftermarket as suggested

Would really like to keep the same unit and get it repaired (will look into it further) and the clocks I will need to get done so thanks for the contacts.

If its just a chip.
Can you not clean or replace the chip for a newer version or a fresh one?

They are one write non Eeprom. In theory you could replace, but I'm lead to believe they are rarer than the early 1.8t ecu chips

As you probably already know, the Sound System in your A4 comprises of the headunit/radio and our Sound System (speakers and amplifier). Since you mention volume problems and the fact that others seem to have experienced similar shortfalls, we assume that this is related to the Concert 1 radio -[ ON/OFF and volume knob in the center of the radio front plate?] The System was offered exclusively as an "off-factory" option by Audi, and therefore they insist on providing all service activities through their authorized dealerships. Therefore we are supposed to recommend that you contact your local Audi dealer.
The radio Concert 1 can develop a behavior like you describe, and can be fixed at a Blaupunkt repair shop.
Just in case you would not have any success with the Audi dealer, you could contact a company specialized in Blaupunkt radio repair.
