First point you must makes sure they are five stud and have a PCD of 112mm, from there you want an offset around the ET35-40 mark and rim width of 7-8J. Tyres depend on the size of the rims but on an 18" rim I use 225/40/18 and on my old 17's I used a 225/45/17 (iirc)

I just bolted on a set of Avus IIIs (18x8? ET?) with 235/40/18 tyres and they appeared to fit with no issues on a 40mm drop.

I should be fitting a set of 18x8.5J ET25 with 225/40/18s (I think. I'm awful at remembering them numbers) and they should be fine.

You need to find the size, width and ET and it will be allot easier for us.
Also if they come with tyres. what size?

    Scott: Avus3's are 18x8 ET45. I dont think you'll get 8.5" wide ET25 rims on a B5 without some serious arch hacking...

right... Got most things confirmed today. They are genuine bentley 19" wheels with tyres for a stupid price. They where fitted to a mk5 golf. I know i'd need adaptors to swap the pcd.... Any idea on prices and where to get them from.. Thanks wayne

Yep. Bentleys are 5x112... So the golf was a mk5 or pcd adapters were used. They should fit straight onto a b5

if im not mistaken, 5x100 does fit 5x112, i only know this as thats what i got on my a6, wheels are 5x100, 8.5j et25 (yes the do stick out, but looks really good) the only difference is the spigot on the hubs are to small for the rims, i had to get some 72.6mm spigots as audi hubs were 57.1mm

Mackers - If he offered them to you at £1200 i wouldnt consider them a bargain mate, not much lost there then.

audi-a6 - 5x100 does not fit 5x112, they are 2 different PCD's(Pitch Centre Diameter) meaning the bolt holes are spaced each at 100 or 112mm from the centre of the hub. The wheels that fitted yours may have been multifit with 10 bolt holes(5x100 and 5x112) and that is how they did fit, they cover 2 PCD's!

There definatly 5 stud (not multifit) the weird thing is that my little tool that measures pcd says 5x100 and when I bought the wheels they came directly off a BMW......... So now I'm confused lol may start up a new topic....

Multi fit can have 2 x sets of 5 stud applications, its actually quite common for 5x100 and 5x112 on the same wheel!

Strange when you say they came off a BMW, they are 5x120 normally, so nothing seems to add up here! What were the wheels, any pics? What car did you have them fitted to???
