Hi and happy new year to all..
my trusty '98 TDi needs an MOT this month, and I think engine timing is out [poor cold start and performance]

can anyone give me an idea how long a timing belt change will take a proper VAG mechanic -
fully checking adjustiong timing too?

also:
any recomendations in London or NW M25 areas?

I have the belt kit (and aux belts) BTW - just thinking labour time to pop the bumper and change these belts

Thanks in advance!

Bumpety bump...

does anyone think this could taKe longer than 2 hours??

thanks

Would have thought it would take more than 2 hours. Will be looking to get this done myself in the next few months so i'm keen to find out what others are charging

Took me about half a day (~4hrs) to do the timing belt on my 1.8T. That was me mincing around on the driveway though. I suspect a proper garage with ramps and all the kit to hand should be able to shave a bit off that with ease.

thanks for the answers but this is now sounding more expensive than I had hoped...
:(
is 45K but 4 yrs old... will have to wait
