    Dismantlers run

Thought I'd show some forum comradery (I think thats right).

Over the next couple of weeks I'm going to drive around some local scrap yards with the hope of finding a good one where they let you walk around and take the parts out of the cars you want. Like back in the day.

I'm willing to take shopping lists of parts from people and if I find what they want on the list, pick it up and ship up to them.

    What you after?
What you want me to find?

    Bugger all lads.

5 breakers...Sorry, more like scrap metal merchants.

    3 audis.
1 Audi 100. No idea of condition, Just left it.
1 A3 on a W plate, 5 door, silver, poverty spec, no engine.
1 Audi A4 B5 Avant quattro, trashed. bumpers ok, doors looked ok, seats dead, clock looked ok but no power so could not see DIS screen, 3 spoke wheel, blown gear box but engine good.

chatting to the lad at the place with the B5, they was a breakers, then went in to scrap metal cause it was more profitable but now they are going back in to breaking so building there stock up.
Give them a month or two and I might pop back up there and see what they got. They currently have alot of new minis on their way. so i'm going to have hunt round them later.

Sorry it was a complete let down lads.
If you find any breakers near me or parts, let me know, I don't mind collecting and shipping up to you or storing in bristol at my old mans house till you're passing.

Thanks a lot for your efforts on a cold day like this.

    Its cool.
I'll do a list of devon based ones and do another trip around them.

I missed the scrap yard smell. lol

Thats what one of them said, they made more in metal than they could make from a car. Dont blame them really.

Should of had the 3 spoke wheel!

I should have said see if you could find(which you did) a 100/early a6 that had the hub and stub axel assembly as i`d like 2 hubs to convert the crappy rear discs of the FWD to use hubs instead of the bearings inside the discs

Problem is a lot of the 'decent' cars get snapped up by the specialist breakers. We got a really good jap/Nissan breaker near us but finding Audi parts is fairly difficult.

I know it sort of takes the fun out of the dismantlers run but there is a good vw Audi breakers quite close to me I've used a few times for bits and bobs V W & Audi Recycled Parts Centre - The South Coast's largest Audi & VW Recycled Parts Centre! they are pretty good and they deliver so for all the small bits and bobs that Scott can't manage to source try these guys, like I said not trying to take the fun out of the run just thought they might be able to help if Scott can't, good luck next time though scott
