It all depends on what tyres will fit your car. This is specified by the manufacturer. I can tell you more if you let me know the engine details (Capacity etc...)![]()

I tried 8.5" audi a8 fat5 alloys with 234/40/18 tyres and that was rubbing onto the rear uprights. The ET of the wheels is 43 and had no issues up front. You could probably roll the arches and fit a 5-10mm spacer in there and narrow tyres. I have rs4 style alloys 8" wide with 225/40/18 and have no issues either with ET35 or 45 !
FOR SALE:

But these are 9.5" so will require big camber and big tyre stretch to squeeze in the arches!

Ive got Porsche cayenne turbo wheels at the moment 18x8 et 57 with 235/40/18 no rubbing but it is a very tight fit but does not rub.
I have had 245/40/18's on 8.5" rims and rolled arches
now run 235/40
My ET is 24 so 20mm outboard of yours. You may have to play around with spacers to clear uprights on ET45 9.5s
its not just the ET its the combo of ET and width. suspect you will have to go to ET35 to clear rear uprights, fronts have more room
find tyres with angled tread pattern to sidewall joins (PS2's were always good) and it will help arch/upright clearance
Using spacers (approx. 10mm will do the trick) and 225/40/18 tyres and it will be ok. I'm currently running 9"x18" wheels with et37 front and et34 rear with 235/40/18 tyres on. Because running pretty downlow there are some rubbing appearing in my case.![]()

No pics sorry mate but have just tried them on the car without tyres looks like i'm gonna have to fit 5mm spacers as i dont wont them to poke out to much past the arches & stretched tyres are a must hope they dont rub on full lock![]()
