I have just a bought an S4 steering wheel to replace my 227,000 mile 4 spoke. Just need to find out how to remove the old wheel, air bag etc.

Cheers

Which 4 spoke do you currently have?

If its the squarey one with the four large audi rings embossed in, i dont think an S4 wheel will fit.

If its the later more rounded version with the small chrome audi rings in the middle, you'll be fine.

To remove the wheel you remove the airbag (two small torx screws on the rear) then the wheel comes off with a spline bit.

This wheel.

Yeh, thats the early spline wheel. I guess your car is 1995-1997?

S4 wheel wont fit your column, however you can use an early sport wheel, which looks very similar, but has big dots round the central rings rather than the dimples on the S4 wheel.
