I am bouncing round and round thinking S3, S4, B6 1.8TQ... what other thoughts do people have on cars?
S3 - economy and power
S4 - noise and power
M3 - handling
S8 - sheer class

Depends on what you;re looking for in a car. If I had £10K I would want something relatively cheap to insure, has good perfornamce and fun handling, relatively practical and fuel efficient, and nothing too old and low mileage, the car? a second hand Renault Clio 182 with Cup options. Although a Honda Integra Type R would be a very close second.

Let me guess - Your married /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif!!!. Our lass would take about 2 minutes to spend £10k and it certainly wouldn't be on a car or extras for it.
That said - New Kitchen / Bathroom / whole house decorated (even though most of it has just been done) / New Garage roof / New Hoover / and finally, for car, new air freshner !!

M3 Evo. or buy an old audi and spend the rest on giving it some steering feel and a more talkative chassis lol
Mmm.... S3 or S4, a decent S4 is hard to come by.
I have been thinking aout something cheap to insure, but even an A3 1.6 will cost me 600 for the year, rather stick to my 1k a year for an S4/3 type car and pay the extra.
Ugh... frustrating. An S3 seems a better buy as the mileages are lower - and they are probably easier to sell I would guess...?

Well i must say there is a lovely TVR Tuscan 6 speed (the one in swordfish) in a garage just round from my house and on a '02 plate going for 30k and its amazing! I would definately think about that! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/1luvu.gif

I drove my friends A4 1.8T and it seems to hav crappy turbo lag. and takes forever to reach 0-100mph. (although 0-60 is nippy). I also drove the new A4 1.8T cab which the same friend has recently bought. This is nice but not as fun to drive (is tiptronic auto).

I would love an S4 - but I really want something under 60k... ideally under 50k, but now we are talking 15k.
It is looking more and more like an S3... seems like the sensible buy... :/
