oil light

i have only just got my a4 b5 1.8t and when u turn the ignition on is there suppose to be a oil light that comes on and go out i dont get one at all, i just get is air bag hand brake and another but i dont see oil ?

I don't have one on mine. If there is a problem with the oil system, then it'll flash up on the DIS.

oh ok phew think gonna book it in to the garage and get it checked over
