What Goes Here?

I was sat on the ferry today looking at my dash and just thinking about the car and my mind started thinking about that little storage space near the flip out cigarette lighter.
Apart from putting the odd change or some stolen argos pens, I can't think why it is there.
In the pre-facelift dash there was cup holders, that seemed like a much better option than this option.
I got off the ferry and drove home.

This thought came back when I came across this image.
Look at the bottom of the image and there seems to be a remote control for the stereo. thats a great idea but no good if you removed the audi stereo. This then started me thinking. What else could you have opted to have fitted in to this space?

I also noticed its about the same size as the B6's, so I'm off to ask them the same question.

Nope, my sunroof (electric) has the controls in the roof by the interior lights / rear view mirror

Could be some James Bond gadgetry?
