Is it best to check the oil level when the engine is HOT or COLD?
As i checked mine and when cold it was at the bottom of the level and when hot it was at the top and i don't want it to be too full or too empty im just having one of those days!

It's not really about whether it's hot or cold, but whether the car is level, and how long it has been standing since the engine was last running. The oil needs time to drain back into the sump in order for the dipstick to give an accurate reading. Make sure the car is on level ground, & wait about an hour after switching the engine off. Pull the dipstick out, wipe it clean, put in back & draw it out again. That should give you an accurate reading.

(Oh, and remember it's never a silly question if you don't know the answer.)

Cheers guys.

Im off out now to buy some!! Eak it is a little to low !!
