Hiya
Plan on doing this at the weekend. Hopefully it should be straight forward (kiss of death lol) I'm going to follow this guide How To: Replace 1.8t cam chain tensioner - VW Passat Forums : Volkswagen Passat Forum as it looks near enough unless anyone knows of a better one?
Do you think it's really necessary to lossen the exhaust cam caps at all? I don't see why I should have to touch that cam shaft?
Could someone confirm the cam cap bolt torque for me please. The guide states 10Nm but want to check that.
Any words of advice at all???
Thanks for any help as always :)

its 10 NM for the caps
pulley is 65 nm

you need 16 links (inclusive) between the teeth that line up with the notch on the sprocket.

get that bit right, slowly bolt the cams back in

torque... check rotation

done...

Cheers Andy but that guide is saying I don't need to take the pulley off. What you think?
