did my rear bearing today and abs light was on after

i know the sensor is still there and connected
all i did was spray it with brake cleaner

about how much is a new sensor ???

FWD

didnt touch the toothed wheel
and if I did how would that cause it to fault

Because the sensor reads the toothed wheel?

So if you've damaged it when doing the bearing that may explain the fault.

Drive it a bit then re torque the nut on the stub axle to specified setting.Even though I set my axle nut as per the Haynes manual it needed doing again a few days later.Had exactly the same fault as you're having.I fitted new discs at the same time but reused my reluctor rings (the toothed wheels on the rear of the discs) every couple of weeks mine will come up with a no signal code.Luckily it can be cleared by switching ignition off.I'd be reluctant to disturb the abs sensor unless you really have to as they're a bit fragile.

Took the disk off and saw the sensor on the dust shield... very dirty so I sprayed with brake cleaner and wiped it with me finger (kinda pushed it) as soon as I started the car ABS light and ! on screen
car havent rolled so must be the sensor

As soon as you started or as soon as you drove off?

If it came on as soon as you started then its an electrical fault like youve damaged the wiring to the sensor.

anyone gonna be around coventry area tomorow
I bought the car with no jack stand and no wheel lug key
If anyone is around come by and help me get the car in the air
check the sensor....

just got a call on a potential buyer and would like to show them the car with no faults....

cheers
