    S4 Engine management light on

    Hi All,

My Engine management cam on this morning as I was driving to work. So in the work carpark I plugged her into VCDS-Lite and came with the below report. The car has had a remap but has been fine since I bought it 3 months ago, the oil levels are all good also.

Any ideas, I hate driving it if i know something is wrong.

    Thats the important bit.

One of your lambda sensors has failed.

Great, another £150 the B2 S1 sensors are on the down pipes as well arn't they? Are they particularly awkward to get to?

    B2 is Bank 2
S1 is sensor 1 (the top one, up near the turbo)

Not sure which side of the engine is bank two though. I guess you can work it out by unplugging one side, and seeing if the fault code changes. IE if you unplug bank one by mistake its going to pop up a new code.

The sensors are available direct from Bosch for a lot less than £150. I think its one of these you need: Just Lambda, Suppliers of zirconia and titania lambda sensors by post

A dying MAF can also cause spurious Lambda errors.
    Mo power, mo problems
