Blue smoke on start up

As title really finished work jumped in the car and a puff of blue smoke came out, would this be a dead turbo or along those lines? It's a 1997 aeb

Could be signs of the turbo starting to let go. Could also be something as daft as slightly overfilled with oil so it's dumping the excess off through the breathers. My dappy ex did that to mine

Would sound right that I've overfilled with bardahl's finest when I serviced it on Sunday, shame really would've had no choice but to be turbo upgrade time early

I desperately want to do mine as well mate. You can bet your bottom dollar as the damn thing won't break it will wait until I'm halfway across Germany in Sept and then let go. lol
