Run on smaller wheels?

Would my tqs run ok on 16's with 205/55 tyres?
I'm looking for some cheap wheels with tyres so I can get mine off for refurb. 16's would give me more options

205/55R16 is more or less identical in overall size to your existing 225/45r17's, so yes it'll work fine.

I'll have a set of 205/55 16's available in the next week or so once I've changed them. All 4 tyres have approx 3mm tread.
The alloys are the 5 spoke b5 sport alloys as fitted to the sport modelsa and early b5 quattro. PM me if interested, will be posted on fleabay early next week.
