Boost Gauge Fitting Help Needed...

Hi,I decided to fit a boost gauge today,in the right hand centre vent.My question is,where to connect the hose in the engine bay?The car is a 2000 1.9 TDi 115bhp ajm engine.I tried a few places,but on starting the car the gauge was reading a minus figure.Maybe the car needs to be under load?

Not offay with diesel but on petrol you will see a vacume at idle and reving at standstill will only usually get you to atmosphere or a fraction of positive pressure. To get a proper boost reading the engine needs to be under load.
