Is this aerial base OEM?

My facelift '99 saloon has a weird aerial base which I've never seen before on any other B5. It's at the top of the back window and attached to the glass.

Is it aftermarket or some weird option? The pic shows it part dismantled because I'm trying to get the thread adapter off.

Where is the aerial situated on most A4's?

Thank you for clearing that up, I tried out Radio 1 last night with the aerial in it's current state and it was still working ok so it seems to be obsolete.

Seems likely that it's for an old GSM phone kit as it used to be a company car in the early 2000's.
