1.8t water pump leak

just wondering if the 1.8t external waterpump is known for cracking/leaking?

Mine is ******* coolant from above the thermostat somewhere, if you squeeze the top rad hose I can hear the air hissing out and see water splattering the pipe above thermostat! it's an ajl engine, original has prob done 135000 miles!

Mine was ever so slightly leaking before i changed it. That was the original on about 102k. Havent sold many on the 1.8t passats so cant be too common. Just be down to age.

Think mine is foobar too. Everytime I park up there is a puddle under the car
