Engine number

Morning all,

Does anyone know where the engine number is located.?

My 99 A4 T sport has had a replacement engine and i want to check if it's the engine that has the waterpump running off the cambelt.

remove the plastic engine cover and you shall find what you seek!

If you dont want to get dirty it is printed on the inside cover of your service schedule book.

I like taking things apart, it's putting them back together that's the problem.

Evening all,

Just looked under the engine cover for the engine numbers and found the following:

Top left of engine - 06B 103 475 D
Back of engine - 058 109 217
Bottom block right side - 058 103 021 E

There is also "APU" stamped at the top right hand side of the engine.

I've just checked the log book and the original engine number was APU009454 which is nothing like the above.

Any ideas guys.?

Nightmare!!!

1 dealer says waterpump runs off cambelt.
1 Audi specialist also says if does

But 1 Audi specialist says it doesn't.

Who are we supposed to believe.
