My friend's a4 quatro 1.8T stopped moving the other day. We did some checking and decided that the pressure plate collapsed on the clutch. We want to get a clutch kit for it, but are not sure which one is the best and most economically feasible. I figured since he has a larger turbo than stock and the car is chipped that we should upgrade the clutch to hold the increase in power. I was told by someone that the 2.8 V6 clutch which is 240cm can be used as an upgrade on the 1.8t, is this true? And if it is, can we just buy the 2.8L clutch kit and use the pressure plate and thowout bearing as well?

Thanks,
Alex

Might be worth getting the comparisons of costs between the two, as you may be able to get a kit which includes the light weight fly wheel as well which would be an added bonus if the car is already modified.
