Drone, Drone, Drone?

Hello all.

Would I be right in saying a drone round a left hand corner is the driver side bearing? It goes quiet round right handers.
Also, how easy is it to get the sump off? (1.8 20v n/a) The chain tensioners making unholy row! I want to give it a flush, clear out the oil pick up and replace the leaking sump gasket. Makes sense to do it all at once.
I know its full of orange plastic bits from the dipstick guide that fell to pieces!

sounds like you have a lot to do!!
bearing noise can be transferred so what sounds left is actually right. but change in tone on cornering is usually a safe bet

you will need to lift the car/engine up off the subframe slightly to clear the sump
