Bit of a silly question I know, but what will happen?
I've just got the car and dont have a radio code or anything. Bit worried about the throttle body re-adapting correctly. Should I be concerned about anything else?

Thanks

you will have to put code in for the radio, think you can disable the code with vagcom before disconecting battery. Nothing else to worry about.

Thanks.

I have Vagcom lite, can I do it through that?
Sorry, also forgot to say its a 98 1.8 n/a 20v, if that makes a difference.

it wont start ?

if you have remote keys you will have to match them back to work
your 1 touch windows will need resetting
radio maybe maybe not
clock date etc resetting
think thats about it
why do u need to disconnect battery

How do I re-match the keys (actually only have one) and the windows?
I just want to make sure the drain holes underneath it are clear.

Thanks

for the windows you press and hold down till open and still hold for a few secs
then the same close them keep hold for a few secs

if you have remoce central locking put key in ignition turn on press lock unlock
turn off shut door lock with button

quick way to check look if no puddle of water should be ok
or pour bucket of water in and watch under car if it drains its ok

can't find the radio coding options now, may have been a different radio! will keep looking.......

Ive had my battery off a few times and the only thing I had to do after was reset the one touch windows.

Radio just said LEARN then started working, remote fobs were fine etc.

All done. No probs at all, radio just came on as normal, didnt actually try windows, remote fine and throttle body made a squealing sound for about 10secs.
Drain hole blocked solid, tray full of water! I thought hole was a grommet for a second.

Thanks to everyone for their input!
