centre colum lights inop

have a slight problem with my 96 sport the centre colum side lights do not come on when you put your side lights on but the dash and door cards light up ok any ideas

do the buttons on the console light up?

Might just be blown bulbs?

no the buttons, lighter, heater controls do not light up

pull the lighter out and see if you're getting power at the bulb wire?
