easy way is to use 'r click' or similiar aftermarket
if you want o.e then you would need
replacement remote capable c/l pump p/n 8L0 862 257 G would be right for a 98
some co-ax wire RG 58 or similiar about 1m to use as an aerial
audi wiring pins p/n 000 979 018 to add co-ax to pump
and 2 button key fob p/n 4D0 837 231 and blade cutting
coding fob to pump for remote is easy but to get key to start car would require skc and vagcom, vag-tacho or an auto locksmith or if your lucky swapping transponder over
cost would depend on price you pay for parts e.g pumps can be bought for £20 from scrappy or anything from 99p-£100 on ebay
