I locked my mates smart car over the weekend and the lights flashed about 9 times, thought this was odd. checked every thing was shut, switched off and windows up.
Locked it again, same thing.
Told my mate and she said its been doing it for about week.
Quick google search and found its telling you that the battery in the keyfob is going flat.

Does are A4s doing any thing to inform us that the battery is going flat?
I would not expect them to cause of their age.

yes they do have a very clever system when the battery gets too low they stop working:wacko:

sorry couldnt resist it
only thing ive have had is range gets less
some new cars have rechargeable batteries and charge when key in ignition so never go flat as long as you remember to use spare occasionally

BMW use that system. inductive charging. very cleaver and very handy.
They also have a dash warning when its going flat.

There is a system for skoda as well, trying to find the Audi version and if the B5s even have one.
