J106 ABS Solenoid Relay - Again! Sodding thing!

Ok, so, ive gone out and borrowed a replacement ECU. Mines Bosch 5.0 so the ECU is under the back bench, replaced it, cleared the vagcom codes and the lights went off.

Stopped the car, turned it off, and the code comes back! Grr!

This ECU was borrowed from a proved working car. There MUST be another place this relay is!

Right, found it. It is most definitely not in the ECU, it is under the plastic on the pump. Just got to remove the plug and plastic then it can be replaced. Found someone who successfully tracked it down, going to have a look today.

In case someone else is looking for this, you have to get a 4mm torx and take the plastic cap off the side of the ABS unit, under the plug.

Its in between the washer bottle and metal part of the ABS unit.

You will find two relays, grey one towards the back of the car and black one towards the front.

Hope this helps someone in the future, im about to locate some replacements and hopefully ill clear the code. Not sure which one is J106 but there is also J105 under there.
