The clutch on my 2.8Q is starting to slip when powering on. If I drive steadily then all is fine. It's even OK on hill starts and 1st and second gear, but when I floor in 3rd, 4th or 5th then it slips.
It's really annoying as it was supposed to have been changed 40k miles ago when the gearbox was replaced, and the original clutch was still fine at 145k, but made sense to change when the gearbox was out. I would expect a new clutch from a VAG specialist to last longer than 43k!
Been quoted Ł500 just for the labour so want to make sure. Hopefully it's not some wierd quattro issue as that will be big bucks. The car has done 188k and is now starting to slowly fall apart!
I think it might be time to scrap the old girl but can't afford it at the moment.
