quick question on dash lights

i dont have DIS and ive just got a quick question about what lights i should see and in what format when turning the ignition on.

On turning the ignition to position one i get:

Fuel light on constant
Oil light flashing
Temp light flashing

They all disappear when i start the car. Is this correct? The flashing of the lights got me a little worried.

I really want to install a DIS as these lights seem a little antiquated.

Surely you should also get the ABS and Airbag lights come on, as well as the battery warning lamp?

Yeah, ive got replacements for the airbag, ABS and the (!) light as the bulbs have been removed (another story, presume theres a problem with those systems, have another thread about it) but was just wanting to be sure that the flashing ones dont indicate a problem with something?

Ive got a bag of ten bulbs to go in, will hopefully get them in today weather permitting.
