Hi the heaters on my A6 2.4 are not getting hot
just luke warm.
The temp gauge is sat at 90.
So what should i check first?
would a flush help? heater core blocked?
if its the stat would gauge be showing 90?
if i change the stat might as well do timing belt at the same time
so cheap fixes first
asked here as quite a few a4 2.4 about

got the same today on my a4 1.8t sport

heater blowing ok, but no heat from the heater, very luke warm.

why would it be the water pump? whats the connection?

ta

On my 2.4 turned out to be the stat but had new timing belt and water pump done
but it still not as hot as my 1.8 gets but much better after all the work
but the temp used to vary but the slower the heater blower the hotter it got
is yours hotter with the blower on a slow speed?

has climate aircon

there is a trickle of heat on low fan speed

just had new thermostat done approx 1500 miles ago. oil and water temps all ok from the gauges

car is on 158000 now

cambelt kit was done at 119000 by awesomegti - but can't tell if they replaced the waterpump at that time - remember asking for it but their receipt does not mention it - will call them tomorrow to see.

I spose back flushing the heater matrix won't hurt .

Usually with WP failure you find it idles ok temp wise, until you load the engine up and it starts to get too warm
