How to remove cigarette lighter ?

Hi all

I need some help here, my cigarette lighter stoped working , and i know its not a fuse becouse i checked it . Im using it for my Nav, and Phone...so i really need to fix it... all i need from you guys, just to tell me how to get to that cigarette lighter's back , so i could check all the leads... i think one of them burned...

well I took advice on this recently but never managed to sort it out.
two bolts at the front side on the trasmission tunnel where the handbrake (lighter) console joins the gear stick console, and then two further bolts under the rear passenger ashtray which slide out.

removal of the actuall lighter unit should be easy to work out once underneath but dont quote me on that!

i asked the same question a while back, same problem on my 98 avant, and was told the ashtray unit comes out with a sharp tug, it's held in with two springs underneath. i was able to see then that the bulb had gone, and as i was getting voltage to the wires i changed the lighter insert for a new one. tis all up and running now
