Alrite guys my audis got a misfire from nowhere, long story short my temperature gauge has been intermittent working and not!

I got told today by an ex audi mechanic that a poss cause of a misfire could be a temp sender that before telling him the gauge fault!

Can anyone say if they have heard of this?

If so where could i purchase a new switch from!

Thanks for your help guys!

New sensor from Audi.

Doubt it would cause a missfire though. Have your checked all the usual ignition components?

yeah all checked first of all brought genuine set up plugs, and still nothing, its a slight misfire when cold and gets worse the warmer it gets, solus scanner coming up with nothing also no engine management light?

I used to be a bmw mechanic and in the past have had e30`s misfiring and this was down to the sender!

Suppose its a £15 gamble!

Will go to audi!

youve already started a thread about this havent you? i posted in it....

Yeah I did but that was asking why the misfire this is asking if a temp switch could be a cause!

did you have a look at the injectors like i suggested?

if the misfire is present cold or hot then its not a temp issue, could be sparkplug, coilpack, faulty injector...
